Nalu with Humans.jpg

I would absolutely recommend Whine Country Bernedoodles to anyone! My puppy Nalu is 10 months now, he is a member of the family, he is incredibly tender loving yet extremely playful and social. We can’t go anywhere without people stopping us on the street to pet and ask about him. He has an incredible sense of when to settle down and when it is okay to play, he is so smart and learns very quickly.

Not only are the dogs amazing, but Raelinn and her family quickly became our close friends. To this day Raelinn checks in on Nalu to see how he is growing and maturing. Many times I have reached out to her with questions and she always provides me with the answers and information I need. She is always there to guide me as a first time dog mom. We are so grateful for the Ogden family and Whine Country Bernedoodles, we hope to get another one when the time is right!
Thank you again!

I had a wonderful experience with RaeLinn and her family at Whine Country Bernedoodles. She was able to help me pick out the perfect puppy. I knew I wanted to bring my dog to work with me to serve as a therapeutic animal working with children in the mental health field. RaeLinn helped me decide which puppy would be the best fit for me and she was spot on. My dog has the sweetest, most loving personality. She is very patient even with rambunctious kids. People are always shocked to learn she is still a puppy because she is so calm.

She also has a very playful and energetic side, but she knows when she needs to be quiet and relaxed. She is smart and excelled in her training. She loves people and is very snuggly and she does great with other dogs. The staff at her doggy daycare have said she is their favorite. I would recommend Whine Country Bernedoodles to anyone and if I ever get another dog I hope it is from them.

Henderson Family with their pup Trilly

We lost our beloved family member on Easter after having her with us for almost 12 years. All of us were devastated by her death, but my husband Seth took it the hardest as he was with her when she had to be put down due to kidney failure since the girls and I were traveling.   I had always had Black Labradors so I just assumed our next dog would be one as well. But Seth couldn’t bear to have another one. He wasn’t ready for a dog.

Life just wasn’t the same without Wonka. Our house felt like just that, a house and no longer a home.  Then one night in June, Seth and I were out to dinner at Tasty & Alder in Portland. We were waiting for a table when this adorable pup came strutting by with his owner.  Normally, I am the one to stop pet owners to talk about their dogs but it was love at first sight for Seth. He stopped the guy and asked what the breed of dog was – turns out he was a Bernedoodle. A breed I had never heard of but is a mixture of a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Standard Poodle. This pup came from a local Breeder: Whine Country Bernedoodle.  Seth immediately typed the information into his iPhone and we spent the majority of the dinner talking about the breed, googling to learn everything we could.

Seth signed us up for an interview with RaeLinn Ogden, the breeder. It was very important to us that any dog we purchase not come from a puppy mill. We consider dogs to be family members and we really wanted to work with a breeder who felt similarly. So on a weekend toward the end of June, Seth, Taylor (age 9), Morgan (age 7) and I all drove out to meet the Ogden family and their dogs.

After pulling up to their home in Yamhill, OR, we immediately felt welcome. RaeLinn introduced us to her husband, her mom, her daughter and her daughter’s dog CoraBelle.  It was immediately clear that RaeLinn is a dog lover first, and a breeder second. Her dogs are her family, just as Wonka had been part of ours. We thought we’d be there for 30 minutes or so. Two+ hours later and we’d made a deposit and requested to get on their waiting list. These dogs are raised with so much love and care, we knew we found the right breeder for us.

The Ogdens were incredibly gracious, patiently introducing us to each of their dogs.  Noli had recently had a litter, but the pups weren’t ready to be socialized and despite our daughters incessant begging –the health of the dogs came first. We were sold. I joined RaeLinn’s Whine Country Bernedoodle FaceBook page and spent way more time than I want to admit watching videos of the pups.

It was Serendipity. We thought we would have to wait until January 2017 for our puppy…but in August, we received a phone call that one of the families fell through…and so one pup had become available. I didn’t even hesitate. I said ABSOLUTELY we will take her.  RaeLinn went on to describe the puppy’s personality: inquisitive, the instigator, independent.  At this point, both my husband and I were on the phone with her saying we couldn’t be more thrilled.

The timing worked out such that we got off a plane, and headed straight from the airport to meet our sweet pup. It was August 20th. The day after our daughter’s 10th birthday. Wonka had been her dog. And now, magically, her 10th birthday wish came true and we were able to bring another dog into our family. Enter Trillium Tillamook Fuzzybottom Henderson aka “Trilly”. She is phenomenal and completes our family once again. RaeLinn’s description of her personality was spot on. We knew EXACTLY what we were getting.  Trilly is not a replacement – but a transcendence. We are so very grateful to RaeLinn for her love of dogs and the care she takes to breed such loving, gorgeous and kind creatures.  Forgive the length of this recommendation but we feel so strongly about how wonderful our Whine Country Bernedoodle experience has been that we wanted to give you as much detail to answer any questions you may have. As for the highest possible endorsement, we’re submitting our names for an upcoming litter to adopt our second Bernedoodle!

Raelinn and Whine Country Bernedoodles get our very highest recommendation. From the minute I started texting with Raelinn, I knew she cared deeply about her dogs and puppies and followed the highest standard of breeding. Raelinn is so communicative and responsive and really helped guide me from choosing a puppy (Ripley), to flying up to Oregon and back to California with my puppy, to finding a wonderful online training program and answering all sorts of “first days” questions after Ripley arrived home. She is incredibly helpful and accessible and I think Ripley is such a sweet, easy dog because of her wonderful training from day one and excellent advice for us all along the way –  from recommending the Baxter and Bella training program, to ordering a travel carrier for Ripley, to sending frequent photos and updates during Ripley's early days, to having very organized vet records and socializing suggestions ready to go when I arrived. I liked and trusted Raelinn and her family so much, and felt that Ripley had been so well loved and taken care of that it was hard for me to tear him away from his first family! However, he was so secure and happy that he was able to quickly integrate into our lives.

Ripley has been such a joy for our family since the moment we met him! He is an extremely loveable, easy-going guy who seemed to immediately bond with the whole family! He learns very quickly and was consistently going outside to potty within the first day. This was absolutely incredible for our family as we have always had Welsh Terriers who are a little (actually a lot) more stubborn. He is so compliant and wants so much to please and yet has a super fun and playful personality, loving to fetch, play keepaway, tug on toys and cuddle for long periods of time. His fur is amazingly soft and he is so gentle. He greets us with so much affection even if we have only been out of the room for a minute! His loving greeting in the morning makes our whole day.

It’s wonderful for our family to have a new puppy in the last couple years before our daughter goes to college. It’s been such a great experience to undertake together. We lost our 10-year-old dog, Cricket, last February and the whole family, including our 9-year-old terrier, Vida, had been missing having a second canine companion. Ripley is such a giant source of happiness and joy to us all! His sweet and intelligent nature far exceeded our expectations and I can’t thank Raelinn and family enough for bringing him into our lives. If you have a chance to work with Raelinn and are lucky enough to have one of her amazing Bernedoodles, definitely don’t pass up this absolutely wonderful experience!
